1Measure the width you want to get covered, A

  • If you’re getting a single shade for the whole window, measure from edge to edge inside the window frame (see first photo on the left)
  • If you’re getting multiple shades for the same window, measure from the inside edge of the window to the middle of the frame that divides the windows (see second photo on the left).

Measure at the top, middle and bottom of the window and record the smallest number.

Note: We’ll deduct 1/4 inches from this number so that you have no issues with fit.

Beautiful product, above-and-beyond service

I ordered window treatments for 11 windows in my house -- several of the windows with both rollers/roman shades and curtains, a variety of translucent and blackout. Buying curtains can be incredibly daunting, but the folks at Mesken made it easy. I took photos of the windows and their experts gave fantastic advice about what would be most practical and also look good. And after everything arrived, when I told them about a tricky corner that didn't look quite right, they immediately offered to send me a new track that would fix the issue, without cost. Everything looks fabulous and works perfectly, and all much more affordable than the competition. Couldn't be happier!

Adding liners to sheer roman shades

You’ve hit on the most controversial topic of the drapery world: Adding liners to sheer roman shades. To some, it’s an absolute no go. To others, it’s no big deal at all. We’re of the mind that it’s generally not a preferred look. Since sheer fabrics are semi-transparent, your liner will be visible through the main fabric and take away from the texture.

If you’d like your roman shades to provide full privacy, we’d recommend using a solid fabric in a similar color. You can always reach out to us at hello@meskenhome.com for suggestions.
