Measurements - Shades

Mounting Inside the Window Frame

Single Shade in One Window Frame

  • To hang your shade inside the window frame your window should have a minimum depth of 1 inch. If your frame is metal, you might also want to rethink if you want to drill into it!
  • Measure the width of the window inside the frame, as close to the top of the window as possible (A). Measure it 3 times and record the smallest.
  • Enter the number you measured exactly when placing your order. We'll automatically make a 0.5 inch deduction to ensure fit.
  • Do the same for the length (B). We'll add a minimum 2 inches to the length to make sure you have ample coverage.
  • Please note: If you want to hang your shades inside the window frame but attach brackets from the side (rather than the top), shoot us a note after you place your order so we can include the right brackets!

Multiple Shades in One Window Frame

  • If your window is made up of multiple panes and you want to get individual shades for each one, the same instructions above apply!
  • Only remember to measure to the middle of the frame that divides the panes as seen in diagram to the left.
  • When deciding whether to get individual shades for each pane or one large one for the whole window, keep in mind that shades over 80 inches incur an oversize shipping charge of $50. The max width you can order is 105 inches.
